​​​Inspiration: If you have already seen 'The Rose' and 'The Hibiscus' then you know that this is the third in a series of flowers I painted for an exhibition at Norden farm in Maidenhead. I actually painted this one and 'The Lilies' at the same time which is something I usually avoid doing in case they end up diluting each other. Fortunately the concept for both was strong so I don't think it made any difference in this instance.  This is number 3 of 4 in the flower series. ​​​​​
