​​​Inspiration: This painting is interesting as it has been growing with me as my artistry has developed. I had originally painted a tree in the autumn, with leaves on the floor. For some reason I have always been dissatisfied with this painting so I decided 2025 was the year of painting over anything I felt needed it, and so "Roots" was born. I kept a lot of the original image and just updated it, it is almost as though the tree entered a different season and I was very keen to show all of the tree this time, roots and all. ​​​​​
